The GICS Banks Industry Group consists of companies primarily engaged in banking activities, including commercial, regional, and savings banks; and other financial institutions. These institutions provide a wide range of financial services to individuals, businesses, and governments.
The principal activities of the Group are the provision of financial services including lending, deposit taking, payments services, investment platforms, superannuation and funds management, insurance services, leasing finance, general finance, interest rate risk management and foreign exchange services.
The Group provides a broad range of banking and financial products and services to retail, small business, corporate and institutional clients. Geographically, operations span Australia, New Zealand, a number of countries in the Asia Pacific region, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The principal activities of the National Australia Bank are banking services, credit and access card facilities, leasing, housing and general finance, international, investment and private banking and wealth management services, funds management and custodian, trustee and nominee services.
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia operate: Retail Banking Services, Business Banking, Institutional Banking and Markets, and Wealth Management in Australia and New Zealand.
